A Season for Peace and Joy… And a Good Reason for Peace and Joy

It’s the season for peace and joy.

Even if it’s not a season that brings you peace and joy, with Svaroopa® yoga, you get both anyway. Guaranteed. Just a few minutes of yoga or meditation will give you peace and joy. The yoga opens the way for peace and joy to manifest.

How to maintain that peace and joy? That’s the challenge. Your mind gets in the way. Like weeds, the same old stuff will crop up again and again. It will pull you down. The weeds will block light. They block the opening from which peace and joy emerge. So, you keep clearing the weeds. Practice yoga regularly. Meditate regularly. You must cultivate your mind to continue allowing the peace and joy to thrive.

It’s a season for giving, which in itself brings peace and joy. St. Francis’s Peace Prayer says: “It’s in giving that we receive.” He’s not referring to transactional giving, in which you give in order to get something. That does not bring joy. If anything, it can bring disappointment. The giving St. Francis refers to is pure and comes from the heart. It asks for nothing in return. You can’t lose when you give that way. Such giving is a great joy. That’s what can make these holidays special.

The greatest gift is being fully and sincerely present to another, without judgement. That has to come from the heart, from your center – from your Self. There, within your heart, there’s an infinite, inexhaustible source of peace and joy. And that radiates outward to warm and lighten the hearts of those around you.
Most important in the season of giving is giving to those in need. We love the quote: “Your greatness is not in what you have, but in what you give.” Thanks to all who have been contributing to our fundraisers. You are great, and we are grateful.
