Face Whatever Comes with Compassion and Grace

I like the sentiment of Nanea Hoffman’s words. Let it also be our wish – for the next few years as well as this week.

“May we face whatever comes with compassion and grace.”

Research has shown that in stressful times – like those we are experiencing now – being compassionate toward yourself can help you deal with the challenge more effectively – with more grace. To flourish, grace needs space. Give yourself space to feel what you need to feel. Give others that space, too. And give yourself compassion. Your response to “whatever comes” will then flow naturally, with plenty of wisdom, light, love and kindness.

“What connects us is far stronger than what divides us.”

We are all children of God. We are all connected because we are one family – one Self in different forms. When you are based in the deeper dimension of your being – your capital S Self – you see no separation, no boundaries. You see your Self in others. You have compassion toward all beings.

“We determine how we move through this world, together.”

How we “move through the world” has a significant impact on the world. Resigning from the world or escaping from the world does little to help others. We must “move through the world, together.” Compassion is to connect with and embrace those who are suffering and do whatever is possible to relieve their suffering.

How you relate with others is determined by how you relate with yourself. Swami Muktananda says, “Honor and respect your own Self.” Treat yourself with respect. Be kind to yourself. See your own Divinity, then you can and will see the Divinity of others.

Think kindly: use words that are uplifting. That means internally, especially. Change your inner conversation to one that is uplifting. That’s how to relate to yourself in a healthy manner. If the world seems bleak and gloomy, start with your inner conversation. Light up your mind. Keep it lit.

Stay sane. Persevere. Even better, rise to the occasion! Upbeat. Chin up. Heart open. Feet solid on the ground. Stand with hope, determination, balance, peace, courage and compassion.

You are here in these challenging times for an important reason. You have the choice how to be. It’s your call. Let your calling be resounding!

With love, we wish you peace and happiness.

Wishing peace and happiness for America, and the whole world, too.
