Most of us want peace, but finding it is another thing. We are seekers but not always finders. Where do you find peace? You might find peace on a beach, in the woods, inside a cave or some other special hideaway. But how are you when you have to leave that special place? How long-lasting is that peace you found there? You still have yourself, your mind. As the old adage states: “Wherever you go, there you are.”
For genuine and lasting peace, you have to find it within yourself. That does not mean looking for it in your mind. In your mind you will likely find disconcerting thoughts and worries. You might even find an inner battle going on there. That might be the reason you sought refuge in that special hideaway in the first place.
To find peace, you have to go deeper than your mind and find your Self, your inherent Divinity. The quickest route for that is through yoga and especially meditation.
There are many ways to meditate. Some styles of meditation have you meditate on the area between your eyebrows or on your breath. Some have you meditate by witnessing what goes on in your mind rather than getting caught up in it. But if the ultimate goal of meditation is to find your Self, to find the greatest peace available to you which comes only from your Self, then why not meditate on your Self?
That’s what Svaroopa® Vidya Meditation is all about. We offer a three-week course to teach you how to meditate on your Self. It’s a simple practice, and you will get immediate results. You will experience inner peace, and naturally emerging from that will come radiant bliss. For information about the next offering of this course, see the Announcements page.
